1. Jesus, Etc. - yeah it's probably their most popular, but it is for a reason. It's one of the best rock songs of the last 10 years.

2. Theologians - love the piano in this one.

3. Poor Places - Just a great, mellow song.

Jane - First of all, you should know that I read The Speckled Egg daily! I'm wracking my brain to see if I've ever linked to you before... because I'm curious as to how you found me.

That said, good choices. And since I promised to list my faves (currently, because they change so much), here they are:

1. War on War:
2. Company in my Back
3. A shot in the Arm

And finally- I hadn't really thought of the Beckett-Tweedy connection, but I sure do now. I mean, if Tweedy were to shave and bulk up a bit. Le sigh.

I know I am ineligible, but given that you are a Red Sox fan and like Wilco, you deserve another comment. :) Plus, I have the dvd already .....

My favs (currently):
1. Monday
2. I'm the Man Who Loves You
3. I Must Be High

And since you like both, ever noticed the resemblance between Josh Beckett and Jeff Tweedy?

Only three?!?! I think that might be impossible, but I'll try.

1. Song: Going way back with this one, "Misunderstood" from Being There.
Why: Just like you, the YHF album introduced me to Wilco, but this album and this song got me hooked.

2. Song: "You Are My Face" from Sky Blue Sky.
Why: An okay album, but the crashing guitar solo in the middle of this song gets me every time.

3. Song: This might be a a bit of a stretch, but whatever, "California Stars" from the Billy Bragg and Wilco album Mermaid Avenue.
Why: It's a beautiful song and a great album, the kind you want to listen to on a road trip to nowhere.

Looks like I'm the only one to leave my top three so far, I guess the odds are good at this point.
