If I actually believed any merriment at all could be had in Georgetown, I might attend this on Sunday:
Celebrate the season at the 2nd Annual Merriment in Georgetown, DC’s most anticipated holiday shopping and family event of the year in the heart of Georgetown. Usher in the holiday season with special sales and events, seasonal festivities, live entertainment, children’s activities, and culinary treats. From candlelight caroling to complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides, there’s something for everyone!
Join in the Merriment with live holiday performances by community choral groups and a special appearance by popular kids’ rock band Milkshake. Special book signing with American Girl author Valerie Tripp. Enjoy traditional holiday beverages, free photos with Santa, and many more yuletide activities.
It’s a magical celebration for all! Please visit our Schedule of Events for a complete listing of festivities.
Aside from Baked & Wired, there is no way you’ll get me to go to Georgetown. I loathe the crowds/congestion, the attitude, and about 90 percent of the people pushing and shoving their way into/out of stores… But, you know, you might be interested.

Likely won’t see any crackheads getting arrested in Georgetown. Another reason not to go there.

So true. We were so, um, fortunate (?) to witness that Friday night.
