I do, after all, love a challenge. Not just the result at the end, but the drudgery in the middle, the hard work, the sweat, the mess of transformation. I love the process of getting there, especially when “there” isn’t a fixed point, but the constant renaming as each finish line morphs into another start line.

I was feeling nostalgic, so I posted a picture I took in the bathroom before I left the hotel to run my very first half marathon. Sparkles, and all.
The Baltimore Running Festival’s Half Marathon is less than a month away. I just finished week 11 of 15 weeks of training. I ran 13 miles on Saturday JUST FOR FUN. It went great:
Greatest 13 miles I've ever run! Between the weather, the running buddies, and the training… It was just 1 of those amazing running days!—

Next week, I’ll run 14. Then I will taper, taper, taper and hope to make my (third!) half marathon dreams come true on October 13. It’s all too much to really think about, so I try not to get ahead of myself too much. But no matter the outcome, I know that there will be more races in my future… including the Ragnar Relay: Miami to Key West! (<– more on that in future posts)
So! One step in front of the other and so on and so on. It’s so close, I can taste it!
P.S. Anyone have any advice to combat the following: 1. Taper Crazies and 2. Getting sick on race day?
